SAN DIEGO, January 23, 2007 – Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data storage and protection solutions, today announced the worldwide availability of the affordable new Iomega® StorCenter™ Pro NAS 150d Server, a cost-effective, powerful network storage solution for small businesses and advanced home users alike.

Two models of the new Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 150d Server are included in today's announcement: a 1TB model based on four hot-swappable SATA II 250GB hard drives, and a 2TB model based on four hot-swappable SATA II 500GB hard drives.*

Both StorCenter Pro NAS 150d Server models can be configured for RAID 0 (striping), RAID 1 (mirroring), or RAID 5 (striping plus parity) operation. RAID 0 provides maximum performance and operating capacity; RAID 5 provides maximum data security, protecting all data even in the event of a drive failure.

Network Attached Storage Essentials - And Extras - at a Great Price

In creating the StorCenter Pro NAS 150d Server, Iomega focused on NAS essentials with the priority on value and simplicity for the home and small office user. The result is a fast, quiet, and easy-to-use device. A Gigabit Ethernet port speeds network performance, and Iomega's Discovery Tool software makes setup virtually automatic. The StorCenter Pro NAS 150d Server provides RAID 0, 1, and 5, supporting computers running the Windows, Unix, Linux and Mac operating systems. Print server functionality for up to four printers is built in; simply connect a printer to the included USB 2.0 interface. For backup from client PCs, Iomega also includes a five-client license for EMC® Retrospect® Express.

The new Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 150d Server is the first 1TB product at this price point to offer true hot swappable drives, meaning one of the four hard drives can be removed from the 150d while in operation and a replacement drive inserted, and the 150d will rebuild the new drive into the existing RAID 1 or 5 array without any interruption or downtime. Only Iomega makes this "enterprise class" feature affordable to the small business and home user market segment.

Software Included

For secure storage and worry-free backup and disaster recovery, every StorCenter Pro NAS 150d Server includes five client licenses for EMC® Retrospect® Express software. Retrospect Express delivers automated, reliable, cost-effective protection for Windows® and Mac® users. Its award-winning design makes it easy to set up and manage highly efficient backups on any personal computer, greatly simplifying disaster recovery. Users can back up open files, verify backup integrity during the backup, have scheduled backups proceed even without logging in, and recover individual files or a complete system to any point in time.

Compatibility

Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 150d Servers support clients running Microsoft Windows Vista/2000/XP Home/XP Professional/XP Professional x64, Mac® OS X 10.2.7 or higher, and Linux distributions, including Redhat 9, Madrake 10, Debian 3.0, Gentoo, and FedoraCore 3.

Supported network file protocols include Microsoft, Linux/UNIX, Apple, Internet and FTP.

Price and Availability

The StorCenter™ Pro NAS 150d 1TB Server is available worldwide for $799; the StorCenter™ Pro NAS 150d 2TB Server, for $1,499. (All prices are suggested US retail.)
