FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Iomega Announces an EMEA distribution agreement with Magirus
GENEVA, January 11 2010 – Iomega, an EMC company (NYSE: EMC) and a global leader in data protection, and Magirus, the leading European IT solutions provider, have signed a pan-European distribution agreement that will ensure that EMC velocity partners and other value add resellers will have access to the full range of Iomega NAS products throughout Europe.
Effective immediately, this European relationship will focus on making available Iomega professional solutions to the value added reseller base.
“Iomega was keen to work with a distributor that has a large partner base encompassing resellers which have a deep expertise in storage and are seeking new business opportunities in the low end NAS market,” says Jan Jensen, Vice President, International Sales for Iomega. “Thanks to Magirus’ ability to support us and our customers in the planning and implementation of IT projects across the region, we are taking a significant step forward in our efforts to establish Iomega professional network storage solutions on a much broader European scale.”
Magirus is EMC EMEA's largest distributor, with affiliates across many countries in the region, and works with many EMC velocity resellers that will benefit from the introduction of Iomega solutions in their portfolio. The Iomega family of NAS products complements the EMC solutions. Iomega NAS products are particularly suited as remote NAS devices that link back to main EMC solutions in company head offices.
The Iomega family of network storage solutions helps customers maximize cost savings and improve data protection. Iomega’s NAS servers offer world-class features that store, manage and protect valuable files at an affordable price. Built on EMC’s world-class enterprise storage functionality, Iomega StorCenter network-attached storage solutions offer advanced storage, security and content sharing that is easy to use and affordable. Available for PC, Mac® and Linux® environments and in desktop and rackmount form factors, Iomega NAS servers offer storage capacity ranging from 1TB to 8TB, with fast, four-click installation and an intuitive web-based interface, as well as the most cost-effective shared storage for VMware®.
“Iomega solutions incorporate technology from multiple parts of EMC, including technology from both VMware and RSA. Iomega solutions incorporate encryption technology from RSA® for protected installs and upgrades as well as VMware virtualization solutions. Iomega products are certified with VMware and both companies are running a joint initiative to reach the midmarket sector. Last but not least we are one of the largest EMC and VMware distributors in Europe, and also have a strong focus on the midmarket. Thus, we see a really great opportunity for our partners to position Iomega/VMware products successfully within their customer base.” says Christian Magirus, Exec. Vice President & COO for Magirus.
